Nurse Manager II, Hospital (Med/Surg Oncology) Location: Clackamas, OR Facility Type: Hospital Schedule: Full-Time | Shift Type: Days Position Overview Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a strategic and experienced Nurse Manager II to join a partner's hospital team in Clackamas, OR. This leadership role is ideal for a seasoned nursing professional with an oncology background who is ready to lead a 20-bed Med/Surg Oncology unit with approximately 50 direct reports. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of best practice models, patient care delivery systems, and practice standards. This is a pivotal role that requires strong business operations experience, a deep commitment to patient safety and quality care, and the ability to foster a collaborative and supportive team environment. Qualifications Required: •Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN). •Minimum of 5 years of experience in patient care delivery. •Minimum of 5 years of experience in business operations, clinical healthcare, or a directly related field. •Minimum of 4 years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports. •Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) License required at hire. •Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire. Preferred: •Oncology background. •Experience in a leadership role with direct reports. •Experience on an Inpatient Med/Surg Oncology unit. •Experience with patients receiving chemotherapy. Key Responsibilities Staff Management & Leadership •Manage a team of approximately 50 direct reports on a 20-bed Med/Surg Oncology unit. •Lead, train, and develop talent for growth opportunities and succession planning. •Solicit and act on performance feedback, setting goals and providing coaching to drive performance improvement. •Foster open dialogue, engage, motivate, and promote collaboration within and across teams. •Manage hospital administrative functions related to human resources, including recruitment, selection, and performance management. Operational Oversight •Lead the implementation of best practice models and patient care delivery systems. •Manage the use and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and medications. •Proactively monitor resource needs to ensure appropriate assignment and utilization. •Manage departmental payroll, non-payroll budget, and other aspects of financial management and cost control. •Lead the implementation of long-term cross-functional strategic projects to improve quality, service, and operating efficiency. Quality Improvement & Compliance •Drive the continuous improvement of clinical practices, services, and operations. •Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., Nursing Practice Act, TJC). •Lead the design and implementation of systems to evaluate and improve patient care. •Facilitate collaboration with physicians and other team members to achieve optimal and safe patient care.
