Gather and review medical evidence and records. Take depositions of claimants, physicians, and other parties. Conduct discovery and perform legal research. Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents. Litigate cases before a workers' compensation judge or referee. Represent employer or insurer interests at various proceedings. Communicate with claims representatives and monitor loss run reports. Assist in accident investigations and manage compensation costs. Compile and submit required management reports. Coordinate and attend claims reviews and negotiate settlements. Requirements
J.D. and licensed in Kansas. Experience in workers' compensation defense; general litigation is a plus. Knowledge of legal principles, practices, and terminology. Familiarity with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Experience with Microsoft Word; Time Matters preferred. Maintain firm and client confidentiality. Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) Certifications
Licensed to practice law in Kansas Skills
Strong legal research and drafting skills. Effective communication and negotiation abilities. Attention to detail and analytical thinking. Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance.
