We’re looking for an experienced and strategic
HR Business Partner
to join our St. Louis
based shared services team. This role goes beyond transactional HR. As a trusted advisor to leaders and team members alike, you will leverage your deep expertise to influence business outcomes, drive culture, and shape a best-in-class team member experience. You will play a key role in aligning people strategies with business objectives while supporting our skilled trades professionals, field teams, and shared service teams through strong partnership, data-informed insights, and practical execution. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Business Partnering Serve as a proactive and strategic HR people partner to assigned leaders and management, developing a deep understanding of their business objectives, operational challenges, and opportunities. Translate business strategy into actionable HR plans and initiatives that drive performance, customer satisfaction, and profitability. Provide expert counsel and guidance to leadership on all HR-related matters. Serve as a strategic partner, fostering cross-functional collaboration with HR, Operations, Legal, and Solutions Group Partners. Partner with Talent Acquisition and Recruitment teams as needed to ensure alignment on workforce planning, staffing priorities, and hiring strategies. Total Rewards & Workforce Administration Partner with payroll and benefits teams to ensure accurate, timely processing and issue resolution. Manage complex leave administration (FMLA, ADA, personal leaves) with empathy and compliance. Act as a liaison between team members, leaders, and third-party vendors to drive clarity and consistency. Employee Relations & Engagement Manage and resolve complex people relations issues, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies and labor laws. Coach and advise leaders on effective team member relations practices to foster a positive and productive work environment. Champion team member engagement initiatives, analyze team member feedback (e.g., surveys, listening sessions), and develop actionable plans to improve morale, retention, and overall teammate experience. Lead investigations and support conflict resolution with discretion and fairness. Build relationships across the organization to proactively address concerns and foster inclusion. Champion initiatives that enhance team member engagement and reinforce company values. Support safety needs in the business, partnering with leaders to maintain compliance, promote a culture of safety, and address workplace hazards proactively. Performance Management Drive continuous improvement of performance management processes, ensuring leaders are equipped to provide effective feedback, set clear goals, and conduct meaningful performance reviews. Provide training and coaching to leaders on performance coaching, career development, and addressing underperformance. Utilize HR data and workforce analytics to identify trends, diagnose organizational challenges (e.g., turnover hotspots, absenteeism), and develop data-driven HR strategies and solutions specific to retail operations. Provide insightful reports and recommendations to business leaders to inform decision-making. Requirements What You Bring 7–10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, including 3–5 years with proven success in a business partner or generalist role, preferably within a fast-paced or similar multi-unit environment. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field. Strong understanding of HR best practices across various disciplines, including talent management, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and HR compliance. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate business objectives into effective HR strategies. Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and credibility at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful insights. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and sometimes demanding environment. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR (HRCI) certification preferred. Willingness to travel overnight and out of state as needed.
