Title: Administrative Assistant - Department of Public Works Status: Full-time Compensation: $42,575 - $52,128

Description The City of Fishers is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to support the Department of Public Works. Duties are centered around data entry, purchase order requisitions, and

vendor/interdepartmental

communication. Coordinating and organizing the flow of documents and providing accurate information or assistance to internal (city staff) and external stakeholders (vendors, contractors, etc.) is a primary function of this role. The position exists within a dynamic work environment where teamwork is required and keeping up-to-date on City events and developments is encouraged. Examples of Duties Process invoices and monthly utility bills. Track utilities via Excel spreadsheets. Utilize a variety of software programs and systems to support daily office duties. Attend department meetings. Track receipts and reconcile statements for internal credit card purchases. Perform clerical duties as necessary, including typing correspondence, letters, and memos, preparing computerized tables and graphs. Assist staff with management and maintenance of files, including scanning, copying, document logging, filing, etc. Upload data into asset management software as needed to capture department expenditures. Perform other duties as necessary. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; 2+ years of work experience in an administrative or clerical support role required ; Broad knowledge of office software (Word, Excel, Adobe, etc.) and ability to quickly learn additional programs and systems required; Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills and maintain confidentiality; Openness to learn new tasks as needs and opportunities become available; Hours are Monday – Friday 7:30am – 3:30pm (can be flexible from 7am - 4:30pm); This is a full-time benefit eligible role.
