The Procurement and Logistics Manager is responsible for leading the sourcing, purchasing, transportation, and distribution of goods and materials to support efficient and cost-effective supply chain operations. This role combines strategic procurement with hands-on logistics and transportation management, ensuring timely delivery, optimal inventory levels, and strong vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have experience managing domestic and international freight, negotiating supplier contracts, and leveraging technology to streamline operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute procurement strategies to meet business objectives and reduce costs. Manage supplier relationships, including contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and compliance. Oversee transportation and logistics operations, including freight forwarding, carrier selection, and route optimization. Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand, align purchasing plans, and manage inventory levels. Monitor and analyze logistics KPIs such as delivery performance, freight costs, and transit times. Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and safety standards. Utilize ERP and transportation management systems (TMS) to manage procurement and logistics workflows. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency, sustainability, and cost control. Resolve transportation issues and delays, working closely with carriers and third-party logistics providers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field (Master's preferred). 5+ years of experience in procurement, logistics, and transportation management. Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, freight operations, and international shipping regulations. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and transportation management software. Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with sustainability sourcing and vendor compliance is a plus.
