Safety Manager
A well-established and growing construction company in San Antonio is seeking an experienced, hands-on
Safety Manager
to take ownership of its safety program and champion a proactive, zero-incident culture. This is a
standalone leadership position
with high visibility, responsible for leading all aspects of compliance, risk management, and safety training across multiple job sites and the corporate office.

Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and continually improve the company’s safety programs to meet and exceed OSHA 1926 compliance requirements. Conduct regular site audits, field inspections, and hazard assessments, with a focus on
trenching, excavation, and other high-risk activities . Lead engaging safety orientations, toolbox talks, and specialized training programs tailored to project-specific hazards. Investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions, documenting root causes and implementing effective corrective actions. Manage workers’ compensation claims from incident reporting through return-to-work coordination. Maintain accurate safety documentation including OSHA 300 logs, inspection reports, and training records using platforms like Safety HQ, Samba Safety, or equivalent systems. Partner with project managers, foremen, and executive leadership to embed safety accountability into daily operations. Monitor industry trends, regulatory updates, and emerging best practices to keep the company ahead of compliance requirements.
Qualifications: 5+ years of progressive safety leadership experience in
commercial or heavy civil construction . Proven expertise in
trenching and excavation safety . In-depth knowledge of OSHA 1926 regulations; ability to act as the sole safety authority for the organization. Professional safety certifications preferred (OSHA 30, OSHA 500/510, First Aid/CPR, HAZWOPER). Proficient with safety management platforms and Microsoft Office Suite. Bilingual (English/Spanish)
for effective communication with a diverse workforce.
Other Details: Full-time, San Antonio-based position with daily travel to active construction sites. Must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions and high-activity environments.
