Senior Safety Manager – Construction
Reports to:
Safety Director Lindamood Inc. is seeking an experienced and driven
Senior Safety Manager
to lead safety initiatives across a variety of
heavy civil, demolition, and site development construction projects . In this key leadership role, you will work closely with field operations, superintendents, and project managers to ensure a safe working environment and a strong safety culture across multiple jobsites. You’ll support the Safety Director in managing company-wide construction safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA and state regulations, and promoting continuous improvement through field training, proactive hazard management, and real-time safety data analysis. Key Responsibilities Construction Site Safety Leadership Lead the planning, execution, and enforcement of safety strategies for active construction projects. Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to integrate safety into all phases of work—from preconstruction through project closeout. Act as a field mentor and resource for site safety representatives and foremen, reinforcing daily safety best practices. Field Oversight & Compliance Conduct regular jobsite safety audits and inspections, ensuring crews follow safety protocols and use proper PPE. Monitor site conditions and high-risk activities (excavation, demolition, heavy equipment operation, confined space, etc.) for potential hazards and intervene as needed. Lead incident investigations on-site, including root cause analysis and development of corrective actions. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management Maintain expert-level knowledge of OSHA standards (including 1926 Construction Standards), state safety regulations, and industry best practices. Assist in preparing for and responding to OSHA inspections, citations, or serious incidents. Help develop and enforce corrective action plans following audits or incidents. Training & Communication Deliver ongoing safety training and toolbox talks tailored to job-specific hazards and site conditions. Build rapport with field crews and management to encourage open communication and reporting of safety concerns. Generate clear, actionable safety reports including trend analysis, leading indicators, and project safety metrics. What You Bring Construction-Savvy:
Strong understanding of construction operations, logistics, and the unique safety challenges of civil, demolition, or industrial projects. Hands-On Leadership:
You’re comfortable on-site, in the field, and in the dirt—working side-by-side with crews to build trust and drive real safety improvements. Incident Management:
Proven experience leading safety responses to near-misses, injuries, or emergencies on active construction sites. Problem Solver:
You think critically, act decisively, and tailor safety solutions to match each job’s environment and scope. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in construction safety management, with experience overseeing multiple job sites. OSHA 500 certification required. In-depth knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction regulations and site-specific safety protocols. Strong communication skills and ability to train, mentor, and influence both field crews and senior leadership.
