Role: Corporate Employment Counsel
Location: New York, NY or Edison, NJ (mandatory 5 days a week onsite at one of these locations)

Responsibilities include: •Providing guidance to the other employment counsel and developing strategy for the employment law team. •Providing day-to-day proactive, strategic, and practical employment law advice, assistance and counseling to HR Partners, as well as providing guidance on US employment policies. •Working with HR to help manage and respond to employee relations issues, investigations and grievances. •Reviewing disciplinary actions and terminations with HR. •Supporting employment aspects of transactions with other companies, including due diligence. •Recommending, implementing and continuously improving employment law related training. •Monitoring legal and regulatory changes in US jurisdictions and advise on compliance. •Supervising and managing significant employment law litigation matters in coordination with outside counsel, as required. •Responding to EEOC and local agency discrimination complaints. •Responding to wage and hour administrative complaints and Department of Labor investigations. •Assisting in managing responses to subpoenas and document requests. •Maintaining employment law files and databases. •Liaising with employment law peers in India, Europe, and other countries, as needed. •Other matters as directed by Head of Legal, Americas, Deputy Head of Legal – USA, and/or Senior Corporate Counsel - Employment
Qualifications: •Minimum of eight years of experience focused on employment law and litigation, preferably with some experience in-house and in the IT industry. •A law degree from a law school and be in good standing to practice in any state in the United States. •Strong analytical capabilities and judgment. •Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment. •Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team as well as cross-functionally across teams. •Ability to handle multiple projects in a timely manner. •Willingness to tackle matters outside area of expertise. •Ability to interact with HR teams and other legal team members (hence this is an office role and not a work from home role).
