Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Customs Entry Writer to join our clients logistics team in Chicago. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and submitting customs entries for import shipments, ensuring compliance with all U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and client requirements. This role plays a key part in facilitating the timely clearance of goods across borders and maintaining excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities: Prepare and process import documentation for air, ocean, shipments in accordance with customs regulations and internal procedures. Accurately classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS). Submit entries via ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) and ensure all documents meet regulatory requirements. Coordinate with customs, carriers, freight forwarders, and clients to resolve any issues delaying clearance. Track shipments and provide timely updates to clients. Work with clients to obtain missing or incomplete documentation and ensure data accuracy. Communicate with government agencies, including FDA, USDA, EPA, and others as required. Maintain organized records in compliance with CBP regulations and company SOPs.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Trade, or related field preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in customs entry writing or customs brokerage. Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, and PGA (Partner Government Agencies) requirements. Familiarity with freight forwarding, logistics, and transportation operations. Experience with CargoWise preferred Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
