Experienced CNC Production Planner

to join its team. An established precision manufacturing company is seeking an experienced

Senior CNC Job Shop Production Planner

to manage the full lifecycle of custom machining projects. This role plays a critical part in coordinating production activities from initial job requests and quoting through to final delivery. The ideal candidate will bring a strong machining background and a comprehensive understanding of shop operations and planning workflows.

MUST HAVES - PLEASE READ: Required Qualifications: 5–10 years of hands-on machining experience in a job shop or custom manufacturing environment Deep knowledge of machining processes such as turning, milling, boring, and grinding Experience in production planning for high-mix, low-volume custom jobs Familiarity with ERP/job tracking systems (e.g., JobBOSS or similar) Experience with

MasterCAM, G & M-code, GD&T. Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and CAD drawings Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with large-part machining, including components such as shafts or assemblies for marine or industrial use Background in industries such as defense, marine, power generation, or heavy equipment manufacturing Prior experience in estimating, quoting, or shop supervision

Key Responsibilities: Manage the complete production planning process from customer inquiry through final product delivery Analyze technical drawings and specifications to evaluate project requirements and establish scope Determine

optimal machine selection, tooling, and manufacturing methods for each job Create detailed production schedules and workflows

to ensure on-time delivery and shop efficiency Coordinate with internal teams including

estimating, engineering, purchasing, and operations Monitor progress and adjust job plans or resources to accommodate changes or delays Ensure all necessary materials, tools, and personnel are allocated appropriately Identify potential scheduling conflicts and propose proactive solutions Maintain accurate job tracking and status updates using ERP systems and traveler documentation Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness
