We are seeking a hands-on
Plant Supervisor
to lead daily manufacturing operations at our Hillside, IL facility. This role is responsible for supervising production staff, ensuring schedules are met, maintaining quality standards, and driving a culture of safety and continuous improvement on the plant floor. The Plant Supervisor will be a key liaison between operations, quality, engineering, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and coordinate daily activities of production teams across shifts Monitor workflow, staffing, and schedules to meet production targets and quality metrics Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment Facilitate employee training, cross-training, and development initiatives Conduct daily shift meetings to communicate goals and performance updates Troubleshoot production issues and collaborate with engineering or maintenance as needed Support quality and engineering teams in resolving non-conformances Maintain accurate production records, timekeeping, and shift reports Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving opportunities Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred 5+ years of manufacturing experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory or team lead role Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety standards, and quality control Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse workforce Proficient in ERP systems (AS400 experience a plus), Microsoft Office, and production tracking tools Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment Familiarity with machining, metal fabrication, MRO items, and supplier performance tracking
