A leading global Hedge Fund is seeking a seasoned Tech Lead with deep expertise in distributed systems and Python development to drive the architecture and delivery of its core Trading Infrastructure platform. This critical platform underpins the firm’s global multi-asset trading operations across front, middle, and back office functions.

As a Tech Lead, you will be responsible for shaping the technical vision, designing and building scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems, and leading a team of engineers delivering low-latency, highly available infrastructure that powers systematic trading at scale.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of distributed systems and microservices supporting ultra-low latency trading infrastructure. Drive the technical strategy for building fault-tolerant, scalable, and highly reliable distributed components. Own the full project lifecycle from requirement analysis and system design to development, deployment, and maintenance in production distributed environments. Mentor and guide a team of engineers on distributed systems best practices, performance optimization, and Python software engineering excellence. Collaborate cross-functionally with quantitative researchers, traders, and infrastructure teams to develop robust, domain-specific distributed solutions. Modernize legacy systems with a focus on distributed architecture improvements and engineering rigor.
Required Skills & Experience: Proven leadership experience in designing, developing, and operating distributed systems primarily using Python. Strong foundation in distributed system design patterns: replication, consensus, partitioning, fault tolerance, and recovery. Expertise in microservice architectures, inter-service communication, and messaging middleware such as Kafka, ZeroMQ, or RabbitMQ. Extensive experience with Linux environments, debugging tools, and performance profiling. Familiarity with relational and time-series databases and SQL. Prior experience in financial trading systems or market data infrastructure is a plus. Strong communication and mentoring skills with a proven ability to lead technical teams.
