Assistant Purchasing Agent

Summary: This role is ideal for someone with a food industry background who thrives in a fast-paced, flavor-driven environment. You’ll help ensure timely sourcing of high-quality ingredients and packaging materials while maintaining strong supplier relationships and cost efficiency.
Responsibilities: Assist in managing day-to-day purchasing activities for raw materials, packaging, and supplies Analyze supplier quotations and recommend optimal sourcing options Support supplier approval processes in collaboration with Quality Assurance Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production to avoid shortages Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery terms with vendors Maintain accurate records in procurement systems (e.g., SAP or similar) Collaborate with R&D and Engineering on new product launches and trials Resolve delivery issues and ensure timely fulfillment of purchase orders Help develop and maintain long-term supplier relationships
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field 3+ years of purchasing experience, preferably in the food manufacturing sector Strong negotiation and analytical skills Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software Excellent communication and organizational abilities Certification such as CPP or APICS is a plus
