Duties, Responsibilities & Other
As Senior Traffic Engineer at KCI, you will oversee the successful execution of engineering projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints. The Senior Traffic Engineer plays a crucial role in driving project success and maintaining client satisfaction through their expertise and leadership. Work with the Project Manager for successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work. Prepare traffic engineering capacity analysis, knowledgeable with safety assessment, and identify intersection operational improvements. Design and prepare construction drawings for traffic projects, including signals and ITS. Apply a broad knowledge and good understanding of principles and practices of traffic engineering. Solve traffic and engineering problems effectively, communicate clearly, and produce high-quality technical writing. Demonstrate reliability, commitment to projects, initiative, and desire to advance knowledge of traffic engineering principles. Effectively manage tasks and projects, including financial and administrative duties. Effectively communicate directly with clients. Supervise staff.
Required Experience
Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, PTV Vistro/Vissim, and/or HCS software is preferred. Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, and NACTO standards. Experience with Microstation. Experience with intersection and roadway concept development. Texas DOT experience with standards and design process is a plus. Experience preparing traffic impact studies. Qualifications
Education and/or Work Experience Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field (AEC Industry) Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Proven experience in planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring engineering projects. Proven experience in project management roles, with a track record of successful project delivery. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders. Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to construction management, quality assurance, and safety protocols. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
