Duties, Responsibilities & Other As Senior Traffic Engineer at KCI, you will: Oversee the successful execution of engineering projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints. Drive project success and maintain client satisfaction through your expertise and leadership. Work with the Project Manager for successful project execution. Key Responsibilities: Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work. Prepare traffic engineering capacity analysis, safety assessments, and identify intersection operational improvements. Design and prepare construction drawings for traffic projects, including signals and ITS. Apply broad knowledge and good understanding of traffic engineering principles and practices. Solve traffic and engineering problems effectively, communicate clearly, and produce high-quality technical writing. Demonstrate reliability, commitment to projects, initiative, and a desire to advance knowledge of traffic engineering principles. Manage tasks and projects, including financial and administrative duties, and communicate directly with clients. Supervise staff. Required Experience: Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, PTV Vistro/Vissim, and/or HCS software is preferred. Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, and NACTO standards. Experience with Microstation. Experience with intersection and roadway concept development. Texas DOT standards and design process experience is a plus. Experience preparing traffic impact studies. * Essential duties and responsibilities are the basic functions that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications Education and/or Work Experience Required: Bachelor's Degree in a related field (AEC Industry). Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Proven experience in planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring engineering projects. Proven project management experience with successful project delivery. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to construction management, quality assurance, and safety protocols. Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and implement solutions in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.). Pre-employment drug screening and background checks may be required.
