Essential function of the job & Qualifications: Prepare food items according to guest orders of consistent quality following recipe cards, as well as production, portion, and presentation standards; complete mise en place and set-up station for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner service Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not prepare beyond estimated needs Ability to operate, maintain and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, flat top grill Assist in prep work of vegetables and condiments as required for the next shift Assist in the planning and development of recipes and ensure the correct preparation and presentation of a consistent level for all food items prepared through production and demonstration Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment Date all food containers and rotate as per policies, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages; return all food items not used to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems, control food waste, loss and usage per policies Assist in training, development, and evaluation of employees in the Kitchen through effective management and leadership to ensure that established cultural and benchmark standards are met Effectively communicate with management, line staff, and other departments Perform all other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management The qualified candidate will possess a passion for flawless service and the highest level of integrity and work ethic.
