We are seeking a seasoned Sr OpenShift Engineer with deep expertise in OpenShift, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable infrastructure solutions in a hybrid cloud environment, while supporting automation, CI/CD pipelines, and application platform engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Work with Tanzu Application Service (TAS) and Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) to support and enhance application platform capabilities.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform and coding issues, collaborating with internal teams for root cause analysis.
Monitor systems to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risks.
Collaborate with production support and platform engineering to drive consistency and resilience.
Develop standards and best practices for cloud engineering and enterprise-wide technology solutions.
Design and document architecture for cloud platform components and processes.
Stay current with industry best practices and technologies; lead technology initiatives and delivery.
Identify areas for optimization, cost reduction, and process improvements.
Work closely with senior engineers and industry groups to solve complex problems and meet strategic goals.
Support a global team in delivering robust and secure cloud-native solutions.
Maintain system documentation and train teams on TAS, PCF, and OpenShift best practices.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience with TAS and Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF). 5+ years of experience in software engineering or equivalent through training, education, or military service. 5+ years of hands-on experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes, including scripting and infrastructure automation. 5+ years of experience building, deploying, and managing OpenShift or Kubernetes environments. 5+ years working with Linux OS and container orchestration platforms. 3+ years of experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or similar. 3+ years of experience with Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Tekton. 3+ years of experience using observability and monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana, AppD, New Relic, Elastic, or Open Telemetry. 3+ years of experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructures. 3+ years leading architectural discussions as a SME for cloud initiatives, emphasizing security, cost-effectiveness, and availability. Strong knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, orchestration, and automation methodologies. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud security management and governance tools. Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration (EX280) or equivalent certification. Knowledge of service mesh, DDI, load balancers, and container-related networking/storage concepts. Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural, matrixed enterprise environment. Proven track record of delivering in fast-paced settings with a focus on security, risk, and compliance for cloud environments. Certifications
