Nestled inside a very modern art space and buliding in Kips Bay/Nomad in Manhattan NYC, we are on the lookout for a passionate and hands-on Head Chef / Café Manager to take the reins of both our kitchen and café operations. This unique hybrid role is ideal for a hospitality-driven chef who thrives in a small, tight-knit environment and finds joy in leading from both the pass and the floor.
We are a small hip and artsy bakery that serves an innovative vegeterian menu . This is a rare opportunity to lead a small, family-style team and have full creative control over a rotating vegetarian menu, while also managing front-of-house service and retail integration. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Menu Innovation : Craft fresh, seasonal vegetarian dishes that change weekly based on available ingredients. Collaborate with our in-house pastry chef.
- Leadership : Manage a 5-person team (BOH + FOH) and collaborating with our extraordinary Pastry Chef, creating a collaborative, supportive culture in and out of the kitchen.
- Guest Experience : Regularly interact with our customers—our kitchen is open and our concept thrives on connection.
- Retail Integration : Curate and manage our retail offerings within the café.
- Event Planning : Lead and execute private and high-profile events including monthly community gatherings and fashion week activations.
- Operations : Oversee sourcing, inventory, budgeting, scheduling, hiring, and compliance with all health and safety regulations.
