Reporting to the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for performing a full range of in vivo and in vitro Nuclear Medicine procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and related chemicals. Responsible for providing quality patient care, ensuring timely throughput of patients, and performing their exams. Operates and performs quality control on stationary and portable scintillation equipment, including gamma cameras, Geiger-Mueller counters, well counters, dose calibration devices, and ancillary equipment. Performs PET, Nuc Med, and CT diagnostic studies on PET/CT scanners, including injection of CT contrast media, image acquisition, and reformatting. Performs scans and procedures for research trial scanner qualification. Creates and programs study-specific protocols under supervision.
Requirements include:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the health system
- Ability to maintain an appropriate work pace
- Customer service skills
- Knowledge of State radiation safety regulations and ALARA principles
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program
- Effective communication in English
- Ability to provide on-call/call-back service
- Minimum one year full-time experience as a CNMT
- Current BLS certification
- Active State of California CNMT License
- Active NMTCB and/or AART (N) licensure
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 1 year full-time experience performing Nuclear Medicine procedures
- Knowledge of university and medical center policies and procedures
