The HR Business Partner, Plant Operations (HRBP) serves as an advisor and consultant to leaders on all human resource priorities, initiatives/programs and issues at all plants/sites. The successful HRBP acts as an employee advocate and change agent that builds and enhances the company’s culture. The role assesses and anticipates HR related needs and proactively develops practical solutions. This position partners and collaborates with the broader HR team to deliver value-added service to the organization to deliver on the company’s business objectives. This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the Plants/Sites.
Operations
Builds strong relationships with business leaders to understand their priorities and needs. Consults, advises and provides guidance to leaders on HR related issues. Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR organization to develop solutions, programs, and policies. Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation. Assesses talent and manages recruiting for open positions, promotions, and internal moves. Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning. Identifies training needs for business units and individual leadership coaching needs. Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met. Leads consistent implementation of all HR programs, processes, and initiatives for Plants/Sites. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to improve the HR function. This person must possess the ability to understand the importance of corporate confidentiality and act accordingly. Confidentiality This person will handle extremely confidential information.
Product Safety and Quality
Follows Product Safety and Quality standards. Follows FDA GMP’s regarding food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee.
Safety
Practices safe work habits and follows general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and use of personal protection equipment (PPE). Practices good housekeeping including clutter-free work area and general cleaning; follows FDA product safety standards, follows IPC product defense standards, and complies with all SQF requirements. Ensures lockout procedures are followed any time the equipment is being cleaned or maintained.
Minimum Requirements (include education, experience, special skills, licenses and/or certifications required.)

Education and/or Experience - Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR professional. Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred. Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, and public groups. Mathematical Skills - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages. Reasoning Ability - Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Travel – Ability to travel as necessary 5-10%.
