Ideal candidate is experienced in medium/high voltage equipment and system design for
transmission/distribution
substations or plant switchyards. Must be able to read/create one-lines, GA's, grounding plans, equipment layout/elevations, etc.; be able to select appropriate yard equipment/connectors, generate BOMs and equipment specs; must also be proficient in AutoCAD or MicroStation. Candidate must possess a design background in
transmission/distribution
substation physical design. The candidate should be capable of leading design efforts on projects involving the physical design of medium and high voltage substation equipment
replacements/retrofits
and new installations. The role requires the ability to complete projects from start to finish with minimal guidance, along with responsibilities such as mentoring and monitoring budgets and schedules. Desired attributes/skills of an ideal candidate include but are not limited to: Ability to complete projects within budget, on time, and with high quality to meet Mesa and client expectations. Excellent communication skills with both customers and coworkers. Ability to communicate across multiple design disciplines. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is a plus. Experience in lightning/static/grounding protection studies using CDEGS and/or WinIGS software is a plus. Ability to mentor and train entry-level substation physical engineers and designers. Willingness to perform site walkdowns to support design and construction phases. Notice to External Search Firms:
