Ideal candidate is experienced in medium/high voltage equipment and system design for transmission/distribution substations or plant switchyards. Must be able to read/create one-lines, GA's, grounding plans, eqpt layout/elevations, etc.; be able to select appropriate yard eqpt/connectors, generate BOMs and eqpt specs; must also be proficient in AutoCAD or MicroStation. Candidate must possess a design background in transmission/distribution substation physical design. Ideal candidate must have the necessary skills and be able to lead design efforts on projects that entail the physical design associated with medium and high voltage substation eqpt replacements/retrofits and new installations. Candidate must possess the requisite experience to be able to complete projects from start to finish with minimal input/guidance from senior level team members. This position requires additional responsibilities such as mentoring, and budget/schedule monitoring. Desired attributes/skills of an ideal candidate include but are not limited to: Must be able to complete projects within budget, on time per the schedule requirements, and with a high degree of quality to meet Mesa and client expectations. Excellent communication skills with both the customer and coworkers. Ability to communicate across multiple design disciplines. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite is a plus. Experience performing lightning/static/grounding protection studies using CDEGS and/or WinIGS software is a plus. Experience writing substation equipment specifications is a plus. Ability to mentor and train entry-level protection engineers and designers. Site walkdowns to support the design and construction phases of the project. Notice to External Search Firms:
