Position Overview

Voyant is at a monumental point in its journey, we are focused on commercialization and scaling our team to match the ambition. As Senior Director of People operations, you’ll lead and execute all core People functions, including HR programs, benefits, performance, learning and development, compensation, talent acquisition, retention, and people operations. You’ll report to the CEO and be a key member of the executive leadership team, shaping not just how we hire and support people, but how the entire company operates.
You’ll be responsible for building processes, programs, and policies from the ground up, while also identifying and evolving what systems and processes no longer serve us as we grow. This role is both strategic and hands-on: you’ll architect scalable systems, but also dive into day-to-day execution when needed. You’ll serve as a connective force between leadership, the board, and the broader team — ensuring alignment, clarity, and progress during a period of rapid scaling.
This is the right role for someone who thrives on building high-performance cultures and scaling early-stage companies. The next 6–12 months will be defining: we’re doubling our headcount, formalizing structure, and scaling our operations. You’ll be surrounded by brilliant, collaborative people who are deeply excited by our mission, to make LiDAR as ubiquitous as CMOS sensors are in everyday cameras.

Key Responsibilities
People Operations & HRIS
Lead and manage core HR operations, systems, and compliance, including payroll, HRIS, international employment platforms, immigration support, and company-wide policy implementation.
Compensation & Benefits
Lead the company’s compensation strategy, including salary benchmarking and equity management, in close collaboration with leadership and finance. Oversee benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive, well-communicated, and seamlessly integrated into the offer and onboarding process.
Performance & Development
Design and lead performance and development programs, including review cycles, career pathing, and learning initiatives—in partnership with company leadership. Serve as a thought partner on team structure and growth planning.
Culture & Engagement
Foster a high-performance, delivery-oriented culture rooted in shared values. Lead engagement initiatives, internal communications, and cross-functional programs that strengthen employee experience, accountability, and collaboration across remote and global teams.
People Programs, Talent Acquisition & Strategic Operations
Drive scaling initiatives in partnership with finance through headcount planning and compensation budgeting. Lead talent acquisition to ensure hiring aligns with evolving business needs. Oversee hiring operations, manage employment legal matters, and implement policies that support a hybrid and partially remote workforce.
Qualifications
8+ years of People leadership experience in high-growth environments (startup or scaling tech company preferred) Deep experience across multiple People functions:, HRBP, operations, benefits, performance, compensation, Comfortable moving between high-level strategy and hands-on execution Thoughtful, clear communicator and cultural ambassador Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices Experience with tools like Trinet, ADP, Justworks, and HRIS systems Based in NYC or willing to work hybrid from our NYC headquarters
