Associate Attorney – Family Law Firm Position Overview:
The Associate Attorney at our family law firm will handle a diverse range of family law cases and provide compassionate, skilled legal representation to clients. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities Case Management and Representation:
Manage a caseload of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and adoptions. Conduct client interviews and provide legal counsel tailored to each client’s needs. Prepare and file legal documents such as petitions, motions, affidavits, and orders. Represent clients in court proceedings, mediation, and settlement conferences. Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and experts to facilitate case progress. Legal Research and Strategy Development:
Conduct thorough legal research, identify relevant case law, and develop effective legal strategies. Analyze client cases and create customized legal strategies to meet their goals while maintaining ethical standards. Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and contribute to the firm's success. Drafting and Documentation:
Draft legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests, briefs, and settlement agreements. Review, revise, and approve documents for accuracy and compliance. Client Communication and Relationship Management:
Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed. Handle sensitive matters with empathy and professionalism. Foster strong relationships for positive outcomes. Court Appearances and Advocacy:
Represent clients in court hearings, motions, and trials. Present evidence, cross-examine witnesses, and negotiate settlements when appropriate. Additional Responsibilities:
Stay updated on family law changes, participate in meetings and training, and contribute to a positive work environment. Qualifications:
JD from an accredited law school, active state bar membership, 1+ years in family law or related field, 1-5+ years litigation experience (family law preferred), strong organizational, research, and communication skills, ability to handle sensitive issues professionally. Preferred Skills:
Experience with family law cases, familiarity with local court procedures, mediation and negotiation skills. About The Company:
