MHK . Job Description The Manager, Software Development will oversee a subset of the development team of Developers and QA Engineers focused on maintaining our SaaS-based application platform. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical expertise and experience in managing Production Support and Development. As a key technical leader, you will work closely with DevOps and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact features and ensure continuous support of our SaaS platform. You will be central in solving complex delivery challenges, balancing rapid iteration, high quality, system reliability, and user satisfaction. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of Java, Spring, Hibernate, ReactJS, Python, and AWS frameworks, with a proven track record of leading Agile teams through full product lifecycle development—from planning to production support. Additional Details This position requires onsite collaboration three days per week at our Tampa office. Responsibilities: Lead the Production Support team during critical issues, providing 24/7 support, communication, and status updates to stakeholders. Coordinate incident management processes to minimize service disruptions. Handle emergency escalations, provide after-hours support, and conduct Root Cause Analyses (RCA). Implement proactive Corrective Action Plans to prevent recurring issues. Lead an Agile team of engineers and QA in delivering software features and updates. Manage sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and other Agile activities. Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from design to deployment and support. Advise on architecture, technical decisions, and best practices across Java, Spring, Python, and AWS. Collaborate with Product Management and DevOps to ensure timely delivery of updates. Ensure smooth production operations through monitoring, incident response, and root cause analysis. Mentor team members for technical and career growth. Improve team metrics such as velocity, quality, and delivery timelines. Facilitate process improvements, measurement, and reporting. Engage in coding activities like code reviews, pair programming, and resolving technical debt. Provide direct support for production issues, troubleshooting, and emergency fixes. Utilize AI technology to streamline processes and enhance deployment. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; Master’s preferred. 7+ years in software development, including 3+ years with Java & Spring, 2+ years with Python, and 3+ years with AWS. Experience managing engineering teams in Agile/Scrum environments. Proven ability to manage high-pressure situations and production support. Deep understanding of incident management, root cause analysis, and ITIL. Experience with SaaS product development, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and release processes. Strong problem-solving, communication, and adaptability skills.
