- Shifts: 12-hour shifts (7 AM 7 PM or 7 PM 7 AM)
- Monthly Shift Requirement: Five shifts per month
- Additional Shifts: May need to cover mid-level shifts if no APP coverage is available
- Patient Volume:
- Annual ED Volume: 19,000
- Average Volume Per 24 Hours: 51 patients
- 24-hour physician coverage with 12-hour APP coverage daily
- See a full range of patients, from pediatric to geriatric, including acute and emergent cases
- Procedures may include intubations, chest tubes, central lines, joint and fracture reductions, joint aspirations, laceration repair, and I&D
- No vent management required
- Work alongside APPs and sign off on their cases
- Admissions coordinated through hospitalists and specialty groups
