About The Role
Our clients are currently seeking a Patent Associate/Agent to join a growing and dynamic Intellectual Property Practice Group in Austin, TX. This firm is consistently ranked among the top global law firms, offering the opportunity to work on cutting-edge IP matters for clients across various industries. The role involves supporting the development, procurement, and strategic counseling of patent portfolios, with a strong focus on computer arts, including software, AI/ML/LLMs, web applications, telecommunications, and integrated circuits.
Key Responsibilities
Draft and prosecute patent applications in the computer arts field. Manage patent portfolios and develop strategies to protect clients’ innovations. Collaborate directly with clients and internal teams to provide expert guidance on patent-related matters.
Requirements
Education: A degree or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with backgrounds in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant technical fields will also be considered. Experience: 2+ years of experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, particularly in the software and technology sectors. Strong experience in drafting complex software patent applications is a plus. USPTO Registration: Must be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Skills: Excellent academic credentials, strong writing and analytical skills, and the ability to work directly with clients.
