We are seeking a talented, collaborative, and highly motivated individual to join our Biological Sciences oncology drug discovery group. This role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary research team to discover new small molecule therapeutics for cancer treatment.
Responsibilities
Lead oncology research programs from validation through candidate nomination. Design and execute molecular and cellular assays to determine therapeutic potential. Analyze data, solve issues, and make strategic decisions. Oversee in vivo pharmacology studies with external partners. Collaborate with core team members to advance projects. Identify and validate novel drug targets. Develop actionable biomarkers for translational application. Define project objectives and strategy with the supervisor. Mentor a team of scientists. Document experimental design and data analyses. Stay updated on scientific advancements. Communicate data and analyses through reports and presentations. Contribute to a culture of collaboration and shared mission.
Qualifications
PhD in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field with 8+ years of drug discovery experience in an industry setting. Proven track record in leading oncology drug discovery programs at a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company. Proficiency in molecular and cellular biology techniques. Experience working in a matrixed environment and cross-functional drug discovery fields. Ability to design and execute complex biological experiments independently. Flexibility to work on multiple research programs simultaneously. Strong communication and presentation skills. Excellent publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
Additional Information
Deciphera is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary pay range for this role is $181,900.00 - $250,000.00. Actual compensation packages will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to depth of experience, education, skillset, overall performance and/or location.
Deciphera believes in providing a competitive compensation and benefits package to all employees. Our base salary is just one component of Decipheras competitive total rewards strategy that also includes annual performance bonus, a long-term incentive plan, full range of benefits and other incentive compensation plans (if applicable).
