Looking for a
Lead HR Business Partner
to support our retail operations across Southern California. This is an exciting opportunity to serve as a strategic partner to our store leaders, influencing our culture and enhancing the teammate experience for over 900 employees across 109 locations.
As an individual contributor, you'll be a critical link between our business and our people. You will work closely with 13 Area Managers to deliver proactive HR support that drives our mission to "Serve Society with Superior Quality." This is a backfill position that offers flexible work hours and the chance to make a significant impact on a high-performing, people-first culture.
Responsibilities In this role, you will:
Partner with store leaders
to provide expert guidance on employee relations, performance management, organizational development, and workforce planning.
Champion our values and culture
by fostering an inclusive, respectful, and engaging work environment.
Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence
to implement company-wide initiatives in talent development, compensation, benefits, and DEI.
Analyze HR data
to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational impact.
Ensure compliance
with California labor laws and company policies, acting as the subject matter expert for the region.
Support change management
and lead initiatives that boost teammate engagement and retention.
Oversee headcount management
and partner with our recruitment team to ensure effective staffing across the region.
Qualifications Required:
Prior experience in a multi-unit/location retail environment or another high-volume setting.
Strong working knowledge of state and federal employment law, as well as HR best practices.
Exceptional communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel regionally up to 50% to stores, meetings, and company events.
The ability to be consistent and tactical in your approach.
Must live within the geographic region (Southern California) you are supporting, with the main office located in West Covina, CA.
Preferred:
Bilingual in Spanish to support our diverse teammate population.
An HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP).
Experience with union environments and labor relations.
