Lead Software Engineer

Harmonia is a leading technology solutions provider supporting federal agencies with IT modernization, software development, and mission-critical services. We are seeking an experienced Lead Developer to support the FDIC AIMS Modernization effort, providing technical leadership and hands-on development expertise in modernizing critical IT systems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and modernization of IT solutions comparable in size, scale, and technology to FDIC’s AIMS Modernization .
• Architect and manage the end-to-end solution , ensuring seamless integration of all components.
• Provide hands-on development expertise in FDIC-approved technologies , including Angular, Java, Microservices, PostgreSQL, TomEE , and other relevant frameworks.
• Drive Agile development efforts, ensuring the successful delivery of solutions through full software lifecycle methodologies .
• Develop and deploy modern solutions in Microsoft Azure , leveraging cloud-native tools and best practices.
• Ensure optimal database design and management , utilizing expert knowledge of PostgreSQL and related tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, DevOps engineers, and project managers, to align development efforts with FDIC objectives.
• Guide and mentor development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices, coding standards, and security protocols .

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in software development and IT modernization for large-scale government projects.
• Proven experience designing and managing end-to-end solution architectures , ensuring seamless system integration .
• Strong hands-on development experience with FDIC-approved technologies , including:
• Angular (frontend development)
• Java and Microservices (backend development)
• Expertise in Agile software development , with 3+ successful Agile-driven software deliveries .
• Recent experience developing and deploying applications in Microsoft Azure .
• Strong knowledge of database design, tools, and utilities , with experience in optimizing performance, scalability, and security .
• Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting FDIC or other financial regulatory agencies .
• Expertise in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-based deployments .
• Certification in Microsoft Azure, Java development, or Agile methodologies (e.g., AWS/Azure Certified Developer, PMI-ACP, or SAFe certifications).
