About the Opportunity :

A nationally recognized Am Law 100 firm is seeking a Senior Counsel to join its Technology, Manufacturing & Transportation practice group, focused on asbestos defense litigation. This is a high-level role suited for a seasoned litigator ready to take strategic ownership of complex toxic tort matters. Open to candidates based anywhere in California, with court experience and a strong defense background.

What Youll Do :

• Manage all phases of asbestos litigation, including depositions, motions, discovery, and trial prep
• Make court appearances and argue motions in high-stakes, multi-party cases
• Collaborate with national litigation teams and corporate clients on strategy
• Mentor junior associates and oversee case-specific workflows
• Draft compelling legal briefs and manage document-intensive matters
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, co-defendants, and experts
• Navigate complex procedural and substantive law issues in California courts
• Work with litigation support teams and leverage internal firm resources
• Contribute to thought leadership, pro bono, or community engagement efforts

What You Bring :

10+ years of asbestos litigation experience required

Must be licensed to practice in California and reside in-state

Prior experience at a top-tier national law firm or equivalent required

Defense-side only background (no plaintiff-side, freelance, or unstable work histories)

Excellent courtroom presence and advocacy skills

Strong academic credentials and writing ability

Strategic thinker with the ability to manage complex, document-heavy caseloads
