PROJECT ENGINEER / ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER (APM):
Project Engineers & Assistant Project Managers (APM) assist the Project Manager and Project Superintendent in bidding, tracking subcontractor releases, project billings, RFIs, project scheduling, and administrative management. They communicate with project owners, architects, subcontractors, and the office.

Overview
As industry leaders, Hill Construction simplifies complex projects and turns visions into homes. To support our growth and client service, our Orange County team seeks a qualified, enthusiastic full-time Project Engineer (PE). The PE works closely with Project Managers and Superintendents on various custom projects, managing project documentation and ensuring quality and contractual risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Project Managers and Engineers collaborate with Superintendents to oversee all construction phases.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Bidding / Estimating
- Budgeting
- RFI Management
- Subcontract Management
- Purchase Order Management
- Shop Drawing Management
- Change Order Management
- Project Billing Review/Approval
- Risk Management and Forecasting
- Submittal and Procurement Management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- 1-2 years of experience with project schedules, RFIs, estimates, budgets, and contracts
- Ability to read and bid construction plans
- Knowledge of subcontractor scopes
- Effective communication with project owners, architects, and team members
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and management software
- Experience with P6, Center, Revit, Bluebeam is a plus
- Sage or Timberline experience is a plus
- Willingness to visit and walk job sites regularly and work in the office
