Duties
- Provide evidence-based individual and group interventions for a wide range of mental health and behavioral medicine conditions within a primary care or integrated healthcare setting.
- Assess acute mental health and behavioral medicine conditions.
- Maintain appropriate documentation of patient care in accordance with hospital standard operating procedures.
- Perform biopsychosocial evaluations using expert knowledge of clinical and clinical health psychology.
- Educate clinical staff and patients on the principles of primary care behavioral health and promoting healthy lifestyle behaviors.
- Conduct rapid assessments and developing brief, problem-focused treatment plans for beneficiaries with acute and chronic mental health and behavioral medicine conditions in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Consult and collaborate effectively with primary care providers and other medical professionals on patient care, treatment planning, and behavioral health integration.
- Develop and implement performance improvement initiatives and participating in quality assurance activities related to behavioral health services.
- Utilize objective behavioral outcome measures to evaluate treatment progress and contribute to program effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation of patient care in accordance with federal, DoD, DHA, and hospital regulations.
- Present cases and provide training on evidence based methods to peers.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- This position requires Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross.
- This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- This position requires regular contact with children under the age 18 and a favorable determination of suitability to do so.
- This position requires a valid unrestricted state license as a doctoral level Psychologist.
