A US-based social commerce marketplace with over 90 million users and 200 million+ listings is scaling its AI/ML organisation to deliver a personalised, discovery-first shopping experience. Backed by a major global tech & commerce group, the company is doubling its AI/ML squads from 3 to 7 this year, creating high-impact engineering and data science roles.

As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer , you will act as the technical lead in a cross-functional AI squad, architecting and deploying high-performance ML systems for personalisation, marketplace trust, and seller tools. You’ll work closely with Data Scientists, Engineers, and Product, while mentoring other MLEs and shaping technical best practices across squads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and deploy large-scale ML systems (batch & real-time)
  • Partner with Staff Data Scientists to productionise models
  • Lead design for MLOps, model serving, and monitoring
  • Drive trade-offs between performance, cost, and latency
  • Working Model: Hybrid – 3 days/week onsite (Bay Area, CA)
