The starting salary range for this position is $17.13 - $19.70, depending on qualifications
This position is Essential and is required to report to duty before, during, and immediately after a civil emergency.
Responsible for performing skilled and semi-skilled professional, physical, labor-intensive work in various maintenance functions. Facilitates the development of public trust and confidence in the City.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. One (1) year related manual labor experience preferred. Possession of valid Florida Driver's License and maintenance of clean driving record required.

- Keeps the mission, vision and values of the City of Port St. Lucie at the forefront of decision making and action; builds strategic and collaborative relationships and interacts with others in a way that builds confidence and trust; provides excellent customer service by taking action to accomplish objectives, maintains high levels of work and productivity by generating innovative solutions to work situations.
- Acts as a rod person on a survey crew.
- Assists in measuring distances with steel tape; sets up auxiliary electronic distance measurements; operates level rod to assist in determining ground elevations.
- Opens survey lines through bushes and trees to enable instrument technicians to see from point-to-point to allow measurements along the lines.
- Sets points in the ground such as stakes, pipes, and monuments.
- Carries equipment as required to support survey operations; loads and unloads equipment from vehicles.
- Cleans equipment and loads in assigned vehicle at the end of the workday.
- Digs and performs manual labor.
- Works under the direction of a Survey Instrument Technician.
- May be required to work hours other than the standard day shift. when an emergency occurs.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
