Primary Function
The Recovery Specialist I negotiates, solves problems, and provides excellent customer service. They locate and contact homeowners nationwide to collect on charged-off secured and unsecured debt.
Principal Duties
- Manage your individual portfolio.
- Resolve post charge-off and deficiency balance accounts.
- Re-establish communication with customers to minimize company loss.
- Build relationships with borrowers to facilitate meeting obligations.
- Negotiate payoffs, settlements, and payment plans within guidelines.
- Use skip tracing tools to locate borrowers with inaccurate contact info.
- Meet service standards and goals while adhering to FDCPA/CFPB guidelines and maintaining professionalism.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- 2+ years of charge-off collections experience or a bachelors degree.
