Primary Function

The Recovery Specialist I negotiates, solves problems, and provides excellent customer service. They locate and contact homeowners nationwide to collect on charged-off secured and unsecured debt.

Principal Duties
  • Manage your individual portfolio.
  • Resolve post charge-off and deficiency balance accounts.
  • Re-establish communication with customers to minimize company loss.
  • Build relationships with borrowers to facilitate meeting obligations.
  • Negotiate payoffs, settlements, and payment plans within guidelines.
  • Use skip tracing tools to locate borrowers with inaccurate contact info.
  • Meet service standards and goals while adhering to FDCPA/CFPB guidelines and maintaining professionalism.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of charge-off collections experience or a bachelors degree.
Skills and Abilities
  • Remain positive and confident despite customer rejection.
  • Achieve goals, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate persuasively and assertively professionally.
  • Strong numeric, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Motivated, organized, and proactive.
