The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing 3 Axis CNC programs in a tool and die environment using CAM software to support the setup and machining of forging tools. This position will work closely with multiple personnel including machine operators, engineers, quality control, outside vendors, and other programmers, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities include creating CNC toolpaths in proper sequence, generating and maintaining worksheets and part programs, troubleshooting tooling issues, and collaborating with engineers on tooling revisions. Strong blueprint reading skills, experience with 3D CAD/CAM software, and knowledge of machining processes are required.
Major Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and machinists in CAM program design.
- Develop and release CNC programs, worksheets, and setup details.
- Work independently and efficiently under pressure.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years CAD/CAM programming in a 3-Axis environment.
- 2 years CAD/CAM programming in a 2-Axis environment.
- Minimum 1 year experience in Tool and Die programming.
- Knowledge of tool steel properties, machining operations, and cutting tools.
- Proficiency with CAM software, SolidWorks, MS Office, and blueprint interpretation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
