Position Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the efficient operation of two warehouse buildings within a fast-paced metals manufacturing environment. This position oversees all warehouse activities including receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing materials and products. The Warehouse Supervisor will lead, coach, and support a team of 6–10 warehouse employees, ensuring compliance with safety standards, inventory accuracy, and production timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily warehouse operations in both buildings to ensure productivity, accuracy, and safety.
- Supervise, schedule, and lead a team of 6–10 warehouse staff, including loaders, forklift operators, and material handlers.
- Coordinate the receipt, storage, and distribution of raw materials, finished goods, and supplies.
- Maintain accurate inventory control and manage cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Ensure safe operation of forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment.
- Collaborate with production, quality control, shipping/receiving, and other departments to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of materials.
- Monitor and enforce safety regulations and company policies.
- Train new employees and provide ongoing performance coaching and feedback.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste or downtime.
- Track and report warehouse metrics such as on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and labor productivity.
- Address and resolve any issues related to material discrepancies, shipping errors, or employee performance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or relevant technical training preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of warehouse or logistics experience, preferably in a metals or heavy manufacturing environment.
- 1–2 years of leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems (ERP/WMS), Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook), and general warehouse processes.
- Forklift and/or crane certification a plus.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Flexibility to work across multiple shifts or weekends as needed.
