Role: Microbiologist
Location: Plymouth, MN 55442
Duration: 1-year contract minimum; small chance of conversion to FTE.
What You’ll Do:
A Sterilization Microbiologist to support the transition of subassemblies and finished goods from internal manufacturing to third-party manufacturers. Must have strong ethylene oxide sterilization expertise, including validation and product adoption.
- Serve as the microbiology/sterilization lead on multiple project teams.
- Assess third-party manufacturing spaces for microbiological quality.
- Document sterilization adoption into validated ethylene oxide cycles.
- Perform and oversee sterilization validations.
- Provide technical writing for project deliverables.
- Minimal supervision once trained.
What we are looking for:
- Ethylene oxide sterilization expertise (validation and product adoption)
- Strong microbiology background in a manufacturing setting
- Technical writing skills
- Independent, self-directed work style
- 5+ years relevant experience (medical device or pharma acceptable)
- Experience contributing data for regulatory submissions
- Knowledge of manufacturing space assessments for microbiological quality
- Previous experience in product transfers to third-party manufacturers
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific discipline preferred (biology, microbiology, chemistry).
- Open to other degrees if candidate has strong relevant experience.
- 5+ years in microbiology and sterilization (ethylene oxide required).
- Experience may come from medical device or pharma.
- Technical writing experience required.
- Regulatory submission experience a plus, but not required.
