Job Title: Product Compliance Analyst
Location: Irvine, CA (Onsite – No Relocation Offered)
Duration: 5 months (potential for extension)
Schedule: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM | Flexible 8/40 or 9/80 schedule (to be discussed)
Position Summary:
The Product Compliance Analyst supports environmental and material compliance across the full product lifecycle, from design through disposal. This role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with global environmental regulations (e.g., REACH, RoHS, WEEE, Prop 65, Conflict Minerals, Batteries Directive ) and drives sustainability through eco-design practices . Analysts are also responsible for understanding chemical compositions and reporting to the EPA in accordance with federal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct lifecycle assessments (LCA) of products, services, or processes to identify opportunities for environmental improvement.
- Review product components and identify regulated chemicals to ensure compliance with environmental standards, especially those outlined by the EPA .
- Validate percentages of regulated substances in product materials and ensure adherence to allowable thresholds.
- Must be able to answer “Yes” to experience with REACH / RoHS / PFOS compliance standards.
- Analyze lifecycle data using specialist tools and prepare detailed compliance and sustainability reports.
- Maintain databases and bill of materials (BOMs) to track material and packaging compliance.
- Support the rollout of eco-design strategies and related training across engineering, procurement, quality, and project teams.
- Collaborate with supply chain and engineering teams to monitor compliance throughout the product development process.
- Prepare compliance certifications, declarations, and technical documentation for regulatory agencies and customer requirements.
- Support internal audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and environmental certification efforts.
- Work closely with engineering, product design, and HSE functions to embed compliance in product development.
- This team develops aircraft electronic products, including in-flight entertainment systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred), or Environmental Science, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–4+ years of experience (or Master’s with 0–2+ years; Associate degree with 3–5+ years).
- Familiarity with REACH, RoHS, WEEE, Prop 65, PFOS , and other material declarations.
- Knowledge of chemical regulatory lists and ability to verify allowed percentages of chemical compositions in manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in aerospace, electronics, or other regulated manufacturing industries.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 14971 standards.
- Experience working with BOMs and material data reporting tools.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
