Civil (Sewer & Watermain) Estimator - Houston Area
Our client, Roni Group, is a rapidly growing, fully unionized professional contractor that specializes in a wide variety of construction services, including heavy civil (wet utilities), large-scale landscaping, demolition, shoring, deep foundation, excavating, forming, waterproofing, and site remediation. They are in the process of mirroring their existing successful operations into the Greater Houston Area, and are seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to join their growing team. Roni Group is recognized for delivering complex, high-quality projects across civil underground infrastructure — including sewer and water main (wet utilities) — with precision, safety, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for civil underground wet utility projects .
- Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to identify scope, risks, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other subcontractors during the bid process.
- Develop detailed quantity take-offs and pricing using industry-standard software and cost data.
- Identify value engineering options to enhance project competitiveness.
- Assist in preconstruction planning and budgeting for awarded projects.
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ estimating experience in civil underground utilities.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials of civil underground (sewer & water main).
- Proficiency with estimating software and the MS Office Suite.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- An individual with some demolition estimating experience would make a compelling candidate!
