Role Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Estimator to join our team in St. Charles, IL . This is a full-time, on-site role critical to the success of our pre-construction and bidding process. As an Estimator at New Path Construction, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing drawings, specs, and scopes of work to develop accurate, competitive, and strategic project estimates across a range of commercial projects.
You will collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and leadership to assess costs, manage bids, and ensure we consistently deliver value without compromising on quality. You’ll help shape the earliest phases of a project—where clarity, speed, and precision give us the edge.

Responsibilities
- Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates
- Develop project takeoffs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracted services
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness
- Collaborate with project teams to develop project timelines, budgets, and value engineering options
- Prepare bid packages and participate in bid reviews, presentations, and contract negotiations
- Assist in maintaining a current database of costs, vendors, and market trends
- Partner with the project team post-award to support project transition and handoff
- Support business development efforts with budgetary pricing, feasibility studies, and conceptual estimates
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years of commercial construction estimating experience
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes
- Experience preparing detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates across multiple trades
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Procore, Microsoft Excel , etc.)
- Excellent math, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering , or a related field preferred
