Position: Senior Estimator

Location: Raleigh, NC

Pay: $130,000 to $140,000/year

Experience: 10+ years of experience in construction, ideally 10+ years of estimating experience.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering or construction management is preferred.

Type: Full-time; Direct Hire

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1st Shift

Greene Resources is looking for an energetic, self-motivated Senior Estimator to join a growing team. A qualified candidate will have the motivation and passion for providing high-quality construction estimates and proposal packages. Detail orientation and an ability to build relationships with clients and subcontractors a critical qualities for the individual in this position.

Job Description:

  • Prepare detailed estimates and budgets at various stages of design, including conceptual, schematic, and construction documents.
  • Lead or support design-assist and preconstruction efforts, offering constructability input and value engineering recommendations.
  • Perform quantity take-offs, develop bid packages, and solicit subcontractors for pricing.
  • Analyze bids and compile data related to materials, labor, equipment, and logistics.
  • Participate in interviews and client presentations, helping communicate project approach and value.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents during hand-off and close-out meetings to share estimate assumptions and capture lessons learned.
  • Assist with project scheduling, logistics planning, phasing, and early procurement strategies.
  • Develop and maintain strong subcontractor relationships and prequalify trade partners.
  • Mentor junior estimators and review their work for accuracy and completeness.

Position Requirements:

  • Life Sciences and Public Bid experience are a plus.
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints and/or technical manuals.
  • Proficient in OnScreen Take-off, Microsoft Office (especially Microsoft Excel), Pantera, Procore, and TogalAI
  • Knowledge of building components, values, functions and maintenance requirements.
  • Understanding of state and local building codes, ordinances, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of design/planning principles and procedures.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Self-motivated in developing estimating skill sets.
  • Effective negotiating skills regarding pricing, costs, and lead time with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to assess contract requirements.
  • Ability to clearly translate client project requirements into budgets and estimates for project managers.
