We are seeking an Appellate Attorney with extensive experience in appellate law to join our Los Angeles office. A Certified Specialist in Appellate Law by the State Bar of California is preferred.

Haight's Appellate Practice Group has handled over 2,000 appeals, resulting in more than 400 published decisions shaping California and federal law across a wide range of complex and emerging areas, including: Commercial Disputes, Labor and Employmentt, Products Liability, Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith, Professional Liability, Personal Injury and Construction
Haight appellate counsel supports clients at every phase of litigation, including:
- Strategic consulting and issue preservation
- Petitions for writs to secure interlocutory relief
- Post-trial motion practice
- Prosecution and defense of civil appeals
- Settlement negotiation at both trial and appellate stages
Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage appellate matters from intake through oral argument in California and federal appellate courts.
- Draft, revise, and finalize appellate briefs, writs, and substantive motions.
- Provide strategic trial support, including dispositive, in limine, and post-trial motions.
- Collaborate with trial counsel to identify and preserve appellate issues during litigation.

Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the California State Bar.
- Preferred - Certified Specialist in Appellate Law by the State Bar of California.
- A minimum of 8 years of exclusive appellate experience.
- Demonstrated excellence in legal research, writing, and oral argument.
- Proven ability to manage appellate cases from inception through resolution.
- Experience advising trial teams and clients on appellate strategy.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $200,000 – $235,000
- Bonus Potential: Up to $30,000 based on billable hour performance
