Job Title: Infection Control Manager (RN)
Job Summary:
A hospital is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Infection Control Manager (RN) to lead and coordinate infection prevention and control activities across our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, at least 3 years of experience in infection prevention, and a current RN license. This role is critical in maintaining a safe, compliant, and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Hours: 9:00AM-5:30PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
- Monitor, investigate, and report on healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and outbreaks.
- Conduct surveillance and data analysis using evidence-based practices and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with departments to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., CDC, OSHA, CMS, Joint Commission).
- Provide education and training to healthcare personnel on infection prevention best practices.
- Serve as a resource and consultant on infection prevention-related issues and emergency preparedness.
- Lead root cause analyses and recommend corrective actions following infection-related incidents.
- Participate in the development and implementation of performance improvement initiatives related to infection control.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and regulatory inspections.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with an active license in NY.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in infection control or related clinical role.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred or must be obtained within 12–18 months of hire.
- Strong knowledge of infection prevention principles, microbiology, epidemiology, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) and infection surveillance software (e.g., NHSN).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in acute care, long-term care, or public health settings.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive change in clinical environments.
- Experience with risk management and quality improvement initiatives.
