This role presents an exciting opportunity for a dedicated clinical professional to lead and support a multidisciplinary team focused on substance use disorder (SUD) treatment. The SUD Clinical Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring high-quality care by providing supervision, mentorship, and clinical oversight. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with a passion for client-centered care, staff development, and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group clinical supervision to assigned staff
  • Serve as a mentor and role model, guiding staff toward professional and departmental goals
  • Monitor staff performance and assist in setting and evaluating SMART goals
  • Conduct assessments and provide clinical coverage when needed
  • Facilitate group programming, including Attitudes and Behaviors groups and educational lectures
  • Participate in staff orientation and training initiatives
  • Manage the clinical team's time-off calendar and ensure adequate coverage
  • Coordinate with external agencies to support client care and referral processes
  • Assist in audits, quality improvement efforts, and implementation of program policies
  • Review documentation and participate in utilization review and case conferencing
  • Prepare reports, maintain statistics, and contribute to committee work as assigned
  • Stay current with OASAS regulations and developments in the behavioral health field
  • Support performance improvement strategies and the development of clinical services
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with regulatory requirements, including NYS CFR 42
  • Represent the department in meetings and assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of a director


Qualifications & Experience

  • CASAC certification and/or Master’s-level QHP (preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with individuals with substance use disorders
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical supervision and staff development
  • Working knowledge of OASAS standards and documentation practices
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage complex cases
