Title : Human Resources Intern

Location : Bronx, New York (Hybrid)

Salary Range : $16.50 per hour (effectively $30,000 per year)

FLSA Classification : Seasonal, Non-exempt (35 hours)

Employment Dates : September 8th - December 19th



Role Summary : The Human Resources Intern will report directly to the Executive Director of Human Resources. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in talent acquisition, recruiting processes, and HR administration. The ideal candidate will assist in sourcing, screening, and coordinating candidates for various positions while contributing to employer branding initiatives.


Primary Job Responsibilities/Duties :

  • Assist with filing New Hires employment files and other Human Resources administrative Tasks.
  • Assist with job postings, screening resumes and conducting initial phone interviews to assess qualifications.
  • Assist in onboarding tasks, including documentation and new hire orientation support.
  • Participate in HR projects related to talent acquisition and employee engagement.
  • Assist with the maintenance of employee records and HR databases.
  • Help organize employee engagement activities and training programs.
  • Assist with the development of HR newsletters, announcements, and other internal communications to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Design and produce informative materials, such as guides, presentations, and infographics, to communicate HR programs and resources to employees.
  • Provide HR Project Management support as needed.


Physical Requirements :

  1. Must be 18 years of age or older.
  2. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  3. Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
  4. Must be able to travel to various company NYC sites as needed.


Work Environment / Schedule Requirements :

  1. Office setting with regular exposure to computer screens and moderate noise levels.
  2. Will be required to work two to three days in office and virtually the rest of the traditional Monday-Friday workweek.

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to create compelling fact-based presentation in conclusion of the internship.
  • Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English for administrative purposes.
  • Must pass drug screening to be appointed.
  • This position may be subject to a series of investigations before and after appointment.
