The YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Human Resources Intern to join our HR team and gain hands-on experience in various HR functions. The internship offers a comprehensive learning experience across multiple HR functions, providing a solid foundation for a future career in Human Resources. As a Human Resources Intern, you will support the HR department in various administrative and operational tasks. Key learning objectives: Utilize an ATS system to manage the recruitment process from job posting to resume screening. Maintain and update employee records, certifications and HR databases. Support the onboarding process for new hires by conducting orientation sessions. Gain an understanding of employment regulations and their application to HR functions Assist with benefits, workers' compensation, unemployment and leave of absence administration. Contribute to special HR projects and initiative as needed. Provide general administrative support to the Director of HR Qualifications: Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Strong interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Proficiency in G Suite (Google docs, sheets, drive) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
