Linux Engineer Low Latency Trading
A leading proprietary trading firm is seeking a Linux Engineer to join their high-performance infrastructure team. This role sits at the heart of the firm’s low-latency trading environment, where speed, stability, and precision are paramount. You’ll work alongside world-class traders, quants, and engineers to optimize and evolve the Linux systems powering cutting-edge trading strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineer and maintain high-performance Linux server environments optimized for ultra-low-latency trading.
- Collaborate with trading, quantitative, and development teams to tune systems for real-time performance.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and monitoring of systems to improve reliability and reduce operational overhead.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks at the OS and hardware level across global trading infrastructure.
- Implement best practices to secure Linux systems while maintaining speed and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience optimizing Linux environments in latency-sensitive applications (HFT or similar).
- Deep understanding of Linux internals, kernel tuning, real-time processing, and CPU/memory affinity.
- Familiarity with networking at the system level (e.g., TCP/UDP, multicast, packet capture, latency analysis).
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar.
- Strong academic background in a STEM discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, etc.).
