Position Overview
The Electrical Project Manager will lead all phases of electrical work for complex, ground-up healthcare construction projects, from preconstruction through closeout. This role requires deep expertise in healthcare-specific electrical systems, compliance with healthcare codes and regulations, and the ability to manage large-scale electrical scopes within high-stakes, schedule-driven environments.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, technically proficient, and experienced in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects that meet stringent quality, safety, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Oversee planning, scheduling, and execution of all electrical scopes for ground-up healthcare facilities.
- Develop project budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and owner representatives.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 99, and other healthcare-specific codes.
Technical Oversight
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and submittals.
- Manage installation of medium- and low-voltage distribution, lighting, fire alarm, nurse call, and emergency power systems.
- Oversee coordination of electrical work with other trades to avoid conflicts and delays.
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, particularly for active healthcare environments and code-driven installations.
- Ensure proper documentation, testing, and inspections per healthcare regulations and AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) requirements.
Financial & Contract Management
- Negotiate subcontracts, manage change orders, and monitor cost controls.
- Track project financials and report regularly to company leadership.
- Manage procurement of long-lead electrical equipment to align with schedule milestones.
Team Leadership & Communication
- Lead project meetings and coordinate efforts between field crews, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Mentor and support junior project engineers or coordinators.
- Serve as the primary electrical point of contact for clients, design teams, and inspectors.
Education & Experience
- 5+ years of electrical project management experience, with at least 3 years in ground-up healthcare construction .
- Strong understanding of healthcare facility design and construction requirements.
- Proven track record delivering projects $5M+ in electrical scope.
Skills & Competencies
- Expert knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and healthcare regulations.

- Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).
Certifications (Preferred)
- Electrical Contractor or Journeyman License (state-specific)
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification
- Healthcare Construction Certificate (ASHE HCC)
